Station 1:

Scenario: Students in Social Studies are studying the Civil War. The teacher has located a Civil War historian that the students can “interview” through VoiceThread. The teacher creates a VoiceThread using pictures, maps, and other primary documents from the Civil War. The students submit their questions about the Civil War, and the teacher posts the questions on VoiceThread. The historian responds to the VoiceThread questions, and the whole class views the VoiceThread to hear the new information the historian can share. Scenario: In Art class, the teacher takes photographs of the students mixed media artwork. The teacher uploads the photographs to VoiceThread. Students view the Voicethread and leave comments identifying the characteristics of the mixed media. While leaving comments, students use the pen tool to identify and label the components of the mixed media work. Please discuss this lesson at your table and respond to the questions.

Scenario: In English Language Arts, students are learning about writer’s tone. To build their tone vocabulary, the teacher creates a VoiceThread with images of people’s faces. Students use their tone vocabulary words to identify the “tone” of the pictures and explain why the tone is represented in the faces of the invididuals pictured. Please discuss this lesson at your table and respond to the questions.

Scenario: Students are reviewing for a math assessment. In small groups, students create a math problem and then write out the steps to solve the problem. Students take pictures of each step of solving the problem and then upload the pictures to VoiceThread. Then, students take turns commenting on the steps necessary to successfully solve the problem. Students share their VoiceThreads for others to review. Please discuss this lesson at your table and respond to the questions.
